Gift Ideas: Make a Gift Basket

So many people understand how enjoyable it is to receive a gift. But making your own, whether for business or personal enjoyment is greatly satisfying. Let your creative side free when making your gift baskets. Any craft skills that you have learnt over the years can now be employed. In saying that it can be a daunting task to lots of people who are unsure how to proceed. Rest assured, it’s easy!  Some choices you can have include a gift basket of wine and gift basket for chocolate lovers.

Chosing a theme is the very first thing that you should do before putting together your gift basket. There really aren’t any strict rules on what theme this can be. Have a family member who’s an avid reader? A perfect gift basket will perhaps be a gift basket full of books and accessories such as a book light. Add a piece of chocolate to hold them through their period of relaxation. For chess enthusiasts you can make them a wonderful gift basket. Think of stuffing a gift basket with a miniature magnetized set and arranging the pieces in an interesting pattern.

Once you have completed this you can move onto designing your basket. It might be that you would like to make a sketch of it of you might just think of the design in your head. A list of all the materials you’ll need is also necessary along with the tools and sizes. Now that you have your list you can begin shopping for all that you need. This can be a lot of fun and it needn’t be a chore.

A gift basket wouldn’t be complete without a basket of course. That can be anything that will hold the items - a traditional wicker container, an antique coffee can, an ancient toy bucket or a contemporary planter. If you can, try to buy a basket that matches the overall theme you have choosen.

OK, so you’ve picked out the gifts and the basket, now you’ll want to wrap it all up. Cellophane is one possible choice. However you could also choose wax paper which is great to work with but also adds an extra element of surprise in terms of opening it.
